Hario Cold Brew Tea FIB

Iced coffee and iced tea are not new concepts, but brewing them with cold water instead of hot water has not been as common.

We have been quite impressed with how easy it is, how good it tastes, and how enticing it looks. By brewing with cold water, bitter substances like caffeine are not extracted. Instead, sweet flavors are enhanced, as well as umami and amino acids. In teas with high vitamin C content, the vitamins are also extracted without being damaged by too high a brewing temperature.

Materials: removable silicone rubber spout, polypropylene filter. Practical capacity: 750ml. Height 30 cm.

Brewing tips "tea in bottle": all teas can be cold brewed, but it is especially good with flavored tea types or dried fruits such as Rosehip & Hibiscus or Green Sencha. Weigh out approximately 15 grams of tea, fill with cold tap water, turn the bottle a couple of times, and let it stand for 2-6 hours in the refrigerator. Turn again before serving.

Crisp, delicious cold tea on warm summer days or as a non-alcoholic alternative for meals or receptions.
